| Myrrh, perfumes, and frankincense | Mor, besamim u-levona |
מֹר, בְּשָׂמִים וּלְבוֹנָה | |||||||
| Are a threshold under your foot. | Le-raglékh miftan. |

| Night is coming down slowly, | Layla yoréd le’at, |
.לַֽיְלָה יוֹרֵד לְאַט | |||||||
| And the fragrance of roses spreads around. | Ve-ruah shoshan nosheva. |

הָֽבָה אֶלְחַשׁ לָךְ | |||||||
| A song, softly, | Shir ba-la’at, |
שִׁיר בַּלַּֽאַט, | |||||||
| A song of love. | Zèmèr shèl ’ahava. |

| At dawn the dove coos, | Shahar homa yona, |
,שַֽׁחַר הוֹמָה יוֹנָה | |||||||
| Your hair is full of dewdrops, | Roshékh malé telalim, |
,רֹאשֵׁךְ מָלֵא טְלָלִים | |||||||
| Your mouth unto the morning is a rose, | Pikh ’èl ha-boqèr shoshana, |
,פִּיךְ אֶל הַבֹּֽקֶר שׁוֹשַׁנָּה | |||||||
| I will pick it for myself. | ’Aqatéfènu li. |
