In the year to come,  Ba-shana ha-ba’a 
בַּשָּׁנָה הַבָּאָה
We will sit on the terrace  Néshév ʽal ha-mirpèsèt 
נֵשֵׁב עַל הַמִּרְפֶּֽסֶת
To count migrating birds.  Ve-nispor tsiporim nodedot. 
וְנִסְפֹּר צִפֳּרִים נוֹדְדוֹת.
Children on vacation  Yeladim be-hufsha 
יְלָדִים בְּחֻפְשָׁה
Will play tag  Yesahaqu tofèsèt 
יְשַׂחֲקוּ תּוֹפֶֽסֶת
Between the house and the fields.  Béyn ha-bayit le-véyn ha-sadot. 
בֵּין הַבַּֽיִת לְבֵין הַשָּׂדוֹת.

And will be served chilled to the table.  Ve-yugshu tsonenim la-shulhan. 
וְיֻגְשׁוּ צוֹנְנִים לַשֻּׁלְחָן.
Lazy winds  Ve-ruhot redumim 
וְרוּחוֹת רְדוּמִים
Will sweep along to the crossroads  Yis’u ’èl ’ém ha-dèrèkh 
יִשְׂאוּ אֶל אֵם הַדֶּֽרָךְ
Old newspapers and mist.  ʽItonim yeshanim ve-ʽanan. 
עִתּוֹנִים יְשָׁנִים וְעָנָן.
 
In the year to come,  Ba-shana ha-ba’a 
בַּשָּׁנָה הַבָּאָה
We shall spread out the palm of our hands  Nifros kapot yadayim 
נִפְרֹשׂ כַּפּוֹת יָדַֽיִם
Towards the white flashing light.  Mul ha-’or ha-nigar ha-lavan. 
מוּל הָאוֹר הַנִּגָּר הַלָּבָן.
A white heron  ’Anafa levana 
אֲנָפָה לְבָנָה
Will spread its wings in the light  Tifros ba-’or knafayim 
תִפְרֹשׂ בָּאוֹר כְּנָפַֽיִם
And the sun will shine through them.  Ve-ha-shèmèsh tizrah be-tokhan. 
וְהַשֶּֽׁמֶשׁ תִּזְרַח בְּתוֹכָן.
